Salama is a multi-disciplinary work that speaks to the dualities of the human spirit inspired by the poetry of Charles C. Smith. A beautiful dance between words and movement, Salama is a reflection on the internal landscape and the space between tension and tenderness. The project is a commission by the Wind in the Leaves Collective – a Toronto-based company that brings together a diverse group of artists to explore social and political themes through multiple artistic expressions.
Wind in the leaves is not soothing; it is profoundly disturbing and thought‑provoking although delivered with a light touch. Just maybe, it will disturb us enough to move more earnestly towards healing.
