Administrative Producer

Salary: $20/hr – Part time

Job Description:

JDT is looking for an Administrative Producer to support the company’s ongoing activities by carrying out organizational, administrative and programming tasks. The successful candidate will report directly to the Artistic Director, and will work from the Dance Umbrella of Ontario’s (DUO) offices for the duration of the contract. Some off-site work is required. This is a one-year part-time contract (15 hrs/week) with the possibility of renewal.

The successful candidate will receive some training and mentorship from the staff at DUO as a key component of the contract.


  • Research funding options as they relate to JDT’s short and long term goals
  • Assist with writing and submitting grant applications and final reports
  • Assist with the operating budget; tracking expenses and revenues against projections and provide reports
  • Research performance opportunities including; festivals, presenters and touring options
  • Create and monitor critical path for company activities and deadlines
  • Liaise with Marketing and Communications team to support the execution of their work and implement a distribution plan for marketing collateral
  • Manage the contracting process for all artists and vendors
  • Assist with outreach and audience development activities
  • Other duties as required



  • Post-secondary education (college or university)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in arts administration and producing in the non-profit performing arts sector or equivalent
  • Experienced in project management including budgets and reporting, with an understanding of the principles of government funding in the arts
  • Excellent computer and typing skills with knowledge of software programs including; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with working in an Apple environment
  • Experience with social media promotion

  • Discretion when dealing with confidential information
  • Professional maturity and judgment
  • An understanding of social justice based work, as well as diversity and equity principles an asset
